Muslim Aid Swimathon 2015

Okay, ladies & gentlemen, it’s time to hit the pool and make a splash for a great cause. The Muslim Aid Swimathon 2015 promises to be an outstanding swimming competition, with women swimming on Saturday 19th September and men the following evening on Sunday 20th September. Both events take place in the evening between 5.00pm and 7.00pm at Woodcock Sports Centre, Aston University.

Swimming is a brilliant all-round exercise, which benefits both your body and your mind. It’s good for your health, good for fitness and can help you lose weight. It can help you improve your heart rate and blood flow too.

By taking part in this swimathon, you’ll not only be helping raise funds for Muslim Aid, but you’ll also be improving your general fitness. There are few workouts that you can do that offer so many peripheral benefits as swimming, allowing you to tone muscle, burn fat and increase stamina all at once.

Taking on Tough Mudder for clean water in Gaza

On 13 September  this year,  Jacqueline Choudhury will be taking on Tough Mudder as part of  Bioticfit’s #teamgreen to raise funds for Muslim Aid‘s  Gaza clean water campaign.  Bioticfit is said to be South Manchester’s biggest fitness community, specialising in outdoor fitness classes.

Tough Mudder is an endurance event in which participants attempt to complete a very muddy 10 mile  obstacle course.  Jacqueline will be taking part in the North West event at Cholmondeley Estate in Cheshire.

Muslim Aid is working on the ground in Gaza to assist those affected by the conflict, where thousands lack basic items as well as adequate food and clean water to keep them healthy.
